Nature Walk

Nature Walk - We are learning about Autumn and all the wonders of the fall season. So we took our first nature walk! The kids got a chance to go outside and explore the world of nature just outside our doors. Each child was given a brown paper bag to use to collect items from nature. For some kids, the highlights of the walk included finding lots and lots of pine cones and acorns for others it was large sticks and some cool rocks!
Here are some photos we took on the walk.
Dylan looking for the biggest stick!

Miss Amanda showing the kids something cool!

Kyla searching for a perfect pinecone.

Lily showing her very full bag!

Aven posing pretty!

Ava's bag is so full that sticks are coming out the sides!

Zachary showing us what's in his bag!

Oh look! Some rocks to add to our collections!

Later that week we took our bags and glued some of our cool finds onto paper to make a beautiful nature craft for Autumn!

Sebastian's minimalist picture brings out mega smiles!

Ava made sure to have a wide array of natural items on her picture!

Can you tell Zach loves cool pincones?

It's so much fun exploring the world around us!

Autumn

We had a lot of fun during our Autumn week!

First we made beautiful autumnal trees with multi-color leaves using our fingers!
We started with paper, paper towel rolls, paint, and a little imagination!

Some of us used the full hand, mixing paint approach.

Others just used their fingers (sometimes one for each color)!

Some used many colors while others, like Aven here, used just one or two.

We were very precise in creating our own unique masterpieces just like the unique masterpieces in nature!

Messy hands just means more fun!
