Pets

It was so much fun learning about pets this week! We spend Tuesday with our friends in the other class. It was fun to get to play with them and their toys. We also had a special guest visitor, Habby, who belongs to Kyla and her family! On Thursday we had time to play lots of new pet games and make an awesome craft for our bulletin board.

Habby! The kids were so excited!

This dog was so well trained! The kids were amazed that Habby wasn't eating the treat but was rather waiting patiently.

We LOVED our visitor! Can you spot Habby?

It turns out we all have pets, even the teachers!

Here are some of our pets!

We played one of our favorite games, sleeping bunnies, with a twist, we could only be pets! Here are some of the kids being puppies.

Jada taking flight while being a bird.

We played a matching game with animals and food. We then got to explore the food. Most of us had never seen turtle food and were fascinated by it.

Music and Movement

Our Music and Movement was so special! We got to have two special guests as well as a lot of time playing with cool instruments, making musical crafts, and moving our bodies.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! We had so much fun today with our friends in the other class. We read a special Valentine's story, played some Valentine's day games and made our Valentine's bags so we could receive Valentines from our friends.

Everyone's dressed in their Valentine's best playing with play dough.

Making our bags! Some used lots of color, others lots of hearts but all were beautiful and unique.

At the end of the day we played Mailman, Mailman Who's Got Mail (the kids recite a poem together and then one by one go up to receive their mail) to get their valentines from all the teachers! The kids loved this game. It's so exciting to get mail!

Freebie Day

We had such a blast on our Freebie day. We read some of our favorite books together (such as Miss Amanda's favorite, The Wonderful Pigs of Jillian Jiggs) and played some of our favorite games such as freeze dance but what really dominated our day was our play in the tents and tunnels and making play dough.

Ava setting up a tea party inside for her and her friends.

Sebastian and Aven sharing a laugh.

We had houses set up inside as well as an airplane (which was super fun).

After snack we made play dough. Here's Shaela helping us mix the ingredients.

Zach cutting his play dough to make cookies.

Shapes Week

We began February with an overview of all the shapes! We played our favorite shapes games as well as some fun new ones. We also had a surprise waiting for us on our first day of class: the class caterpillar!! The kids think he's awesome. It's so nice to be able to see ourselves and our friends on the wall together.

The kids pointing out themselves and their friends!

Jada not only practicing her scissor skills on play dough but also filling in her shapes.

Ava made a beautiful princess out of shapes! What creativity!

We're going on a shape hunt! We had to find all our shapes and match them with our picture.

Vivianne and Aven finding their last pieces.

Once we found all our shapes we glued them beside their matches. Lily's doing a great job!

We played Hullabaloo! This games gets us up and moving while learning about colors, shapes, animals, food, and musical instruments. This is definitely a new favorite!

Dylan loved playing with these shape lacing cards.

Some of our ladies working together to create some art.

Chef Zach took a break from cooking to whip up some squares and circles.

On our second day we went on another shape hunt! This time everyone needed to find out piece and work together to make a picture! We made a house with a tree.

Dance freeze is a favorite game we play. Here's Vivianne freezing on a star.
